Indian Rupee (INR). Exchange USD or GBP at authorised exchange counters in Delhi — avoid airport exchange desks where rates are significantly worse. ATMs (Visa/Mastercard) are widely available across hospital areas.

Buy an Indian SIM on arrival (Airtel or Jio). Both are affordable and widely available. You will need it for local calls, data, and navigation. Your passport is required for SIM registration.

Food

Delhi has a variety of African and halal food options, particularly around Karol Bagh and Malviya Nagar. Most hospital-area guesthouses can arrange familiar meals on request. Indian food is generally familiar in seasoning for Nigerian palates.

Delhi is extremely hot April–June (up to 45°C). October–March is the most comfortable period for travel and recovery. If you need to travel in summer, air-conditioned transport and accommodation is readily available.
